Cité Films is a production and sales company founded in 1997, wholly-owned and managed by Raphaël Berdugo, who has more than 35 year experience in the movie business, especially in production and international sales. He has coproduced around 30 movies through various production companies, mostly arthouse films that have been selected by prestigious festivals, winning numerous awards. He’s generally taking care of the world sales of the films he’s coproducing. In 2017, he sold worldwide LA NOVIA DEL DESIERTO by Cecilia Atan and Valeria Pivato (Un Certain Regard, San Sebastian, Busan…) and in 2019 SOME BEASTS by Jorge Riquelme Serrano, Grand Prize New Directors at San Sebastian International Film Festival.

 

In 2021, he coproduced and sold worldwide AZURO by Mathieu Rozé based upon Marguerite Duras’ novel, selected at Beijing and Göteborg International Film Festival. In 2022, he is selling worldwide SUMMERLIGHT AND THEN COMES THE NIGHT, a comedy-drama by Elfar Adalsteins based on Jon Kalman Stefansson’s novel, THE JEW, a drama-thriller by Dmitriy Fiks and a documentary feature by Françoise Ferraton KRISHNAMURTI, THE REVOLUTION OF SILENCE.

 

He has new projects in development among which FOUR SEASONS by Volker Schlöndorff, a feature film on a special period of Vivaldi’s life, and WHAT REMAINS, a roadmovie of a poetress in Turkey by Yesim Ustaoglu. He is also managing a high profile arthouse catalogue including famous Classics from world acclaimed directors such as Antonioni, Borowczyk, Bresson, Duras, Fellini, Ferreri, Godard, Laloux, Marker, Oshima, Resnais, Tarkovski, Schlöndorff, and Wenders.

But this year, a mysterious man arrives from the sea and shakes up their seemingly balanced existence…

To escape revenge at the hands of a gang, a Muslim rap musician finds himself on a strange road trip.
